Anyone with a rash under a ring, watch or necklace may find themselves suffering from a nickel allergy (nickel dermatitis). This is especially common for those prone to eczema.
Nickel is a common component of jewelry, tools, eyeglass frames, doorknobs, cookware, zippers, metal clothing closures (buttons, snaps), silverware, and even the euro!
Simple avoidance is your best medicine for prevention. Now you can use what dermatologists keep on hand to test all of those seemingly harmless metal objects at home.
Simply apply 2 drops of Solution A which contains dimethylgloxime to a cotton swab (applicator or Q-tip), followed by a single droplet of Solution B. Rub the object with the cotton applicator or Q-tip. A strawberry red color on the cotton applicator is a positive result and indicates the presence of nickel in the object.
Allertest Ni will not harm objects which are tested.
Nickel allergy kit contains 2 individual dropper bottles containing 6ml each of Solution A and Solution B.
Ingredients:
Solution A: 1% Dimethylgloxime in Denatured Alcohol.
Solution B: 10% Ammonium Hydroxide.
